Newham College London

Our Innovation Project

Newham College's project is focusing on research into building effective employer /education provider partnerships in a variety of contexts. The college is providing research support to each of the three other innovation projects.

The project aims to raise the profile of the FE sector offer and to support employers in finding the 'one place' for identifying appropriate learning and skills provider partners.

Anticipated Outcomes

The project aims to support employers to work collaboratively with education and training providers in East London and, at the same time, to improve provider knowledge and confidence in working with employers, drawing on local, national and international research. Finally, the project seeks to improve both employer and education and training provider knowledge of local, regional and national government policy on TVET.

In doing this we anticipate that the project will support:

  • a marketing plan and launch event for a portal on partnership working
  • at least 200 employers engaged over the lifetime of the project
  • the production of guidance on funding arrangements/opportunities produced for use by provider/employer partnerships
  • all East London colleges engaged in activities related to employer/provider collaboration
  • production of staff development materials and provider, employer and partnership case studies
